New Dates: Yosemite in Winter

Our Yosemite in Winter trip only has one spot left on the February 2019 departure. So…we went ahead and added another one! If you are interested in joining us to photograph Yosemite National Park this winter you now have two sets of dates to choose from!

  • February 11th to 16th, 2019
  • February 17th to 22nd, 2019

We’ve timed this trip to coincide with abundant snowfall in the High Sierra as well as the possibility of photographing Yosemite’s famous “Fire Fall”. Not sure what the Fire Fall is? Check out the image on this post. On rare occasions the angle of the sun lights up Horsetail Falls in Yosemite Valley to appear as if it is glowing orange during the fading twilight. This is a spectacular phenomenon that generally occurs in mid to late February.

This trip will be based out of the Yosemite Falls Lodge – right smack dab in the middle of wintry Yosemite Valley and walking distance to Yosemite Falls. Also – we’ll meet you in warm, sunny Fresno prior to heading up into the mountains so you don’t have to worry about renting a car! On this trip we will photograph a plethora of winter landscapes scenes including the famous Yosemite granite features such as Half-Dome, El Capitan and the Cathedral Rocks. We’ll walk along the snowy banks of the Merced River and wait for the setting sun to paint Half-Dome bright red above a misty, snow covered Yosemite Valley! This will be a great trip and very unique in the fact that we’ll (hopefully) be able to photograph the Fire Fall as well. The dates for this trip in 2019 are February 17th to 22nd, 2019 and it will cost $2950 including lodging, transportation, instruction, park fees and most meals. I hope to see you out in Yosemite this winter!
