“The West of Which I Speak”
A powerful vision of Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park, California. This image was shot in early November of 2015 in full glory as one of my first images created with the new 50.6 MegaPixel Canon 5DS along with their sharpest landscape lens to date the f/4 16-35mm. Yosemite was the Temple and playground of John Muir, Ansel Adams and today remains so for so many people thanks to their efforts of conservation. Thoreau put it best in his essay “Walking” in which he wrote the namesake title for this image by quoting: “The West of which I speak is but another name for the Wild; and what I have been preparing to say is, that in Wildness is the preservation of the world.” When released for print this image will be issued as an exclusive Limited Edition of only four.
