Nikon & Canon Rumors and News

Nikon
It looks as if we are close to a release of what should be two new “entry-level” Z-mount mirrorless cameras from Nikon, according to a report from Nikon Rumors.

This rumor stems from Nikon having recently registered two new cameras, known as N1929 and N1932, with a Russian certification authority. Typically, according to Nikon Rumors, new models are usually introduced 30-90 days after this kind of registration.

The rumored cameras are the Z5 and Z30, both entry-level model mirrorless models. Other rumors circulating are indicating a 2021 release for the new professional Nikon Z8/Z9.

So, some good news from Nikon, who has been relatively quiet of late, with the exception of the release last week of poor earnings and layoffs for the company.

Unfortunately, there are no specs, photos, or any other details but we’ll stay on the lookout for when they come down the proverbial “chute.”

Canon

A report from Canon Rumors is indicating that Canon’s upcoming full-frame mirrorless cameras should be here very soon. According to the most recent report, both the EOS R5 and the  EOS R6 should be announced together on July 2nd.

While the EOS R6 has been rumored, the EOS R5 has been expected for a while, its release delayed from COVID-19. Backcountry Journeys wrote about this camera in late April, calling it perhaps Canon’s most exciting release of 2020.

The EOS R6 should be an entry-level mirrorless model, a sibling, and a less expensive alternative to the pro EOS R6. Find the specs, according to Canon Rumors, below.

Canon EOS R6 Specs:
20mp full-frame CMOS sensor
IBIS
12fps mechanical and 20fps electronic.
4K @ 60p
Full HD @ 120p
Dual card slots
No top-down screen
Lower resolution EVF than the EOS R5
Build quality not as good as the EOS R5
New battery (Not sure if it’s the same as the EOS R5)
