It is with great excitement that we are launching yet another brand new trip here at Backcountry Journeys! This one has been long awaited as it is our first “Lodge-Based” photography trip to see the Brown Bears of Alaska! Although we have offered wilderness camping trips to Katmai National Park for several years as well as Lake Clark National Park this will be our first expedition to utilize a wilderness Eco-Lodge as our home-base for Brown Bear Photography!
Situated along the shores of Lake Clark National Park our beautiful yet rustic wilderness Eco-Lodge is the perfect location to photograph Brown Bears as the wrestle, play and forage for clams & sedge along the Alaskan Peninsula. Our lodge features the perfect combination of wilderness experience and comfort. Chosen by Outside Magazine as North America’s best Bush Camp due to it’s incredible location, access to some of the best bear viewing in Alaska and fantastic meals served up by the resident chef! Overnights are in extreme duty Weather-Port tent-cabins on elevated wooden decks. The tent-cabins feature hard floors, comfortable beds with full linens with propane heat and light. Meals are served in the main dining tent with a library and charging station for your camera batteries. Finally, a fantastic view of Cook Inlet from your bed ensures a full-on “Glamping” stye adventure you’ll never forget. Our Eco-Lodge also features a private bear viewing deck situated along a pristine river with incredible mountain back drops – the photography really doesn’t get any better! Being right there gives us excellent access to the action going on around the bay and you will be able to capture thousands of excellent Brown Bear Photographs in just a few short days.
If you’ve looked at our popular wilderness camping photography trips to Katmai National Park but decided “camping is not my thing” then this is the trip for you! Join us along the coast of one of America’s most beautiful and least visited National Parks this summer for an experience you’ll never forget!
