This unique tour is the ultimate wildlife photographer's dream, taking you to a remote corner of the park where you'll have the opportunity to photograph these incredible creatures in their natural habitat, up close and personal.
Katmai is one of the largest National Parks in the United States, sprawling over 4 million acres of stunning wilderness. But the remote section you'll be visiting is unlike any other - situated closer to the bears than any other humans, you'll be in prime position for incredible brown bear photography! And getting there is half the adventure - the only way to access this hidden corner of the park is by float plane, soaring over the breathtaking Alaskan Peninsula.
Over the course of this 5-day workshop, you'll be fully immersed in the art of wildlife photography from beginning to end. With lenses ranging from 300mm to 400mm, you'll capture breathtaking, full-frame images that will leave you in awe. And it's not just brown bears that call this area home - keep your eyes peeled for other incredible species such as moose, fox, wolf, and Bald Eagles.
Please note: This itinerary does not visit the Brooks Falls/Brooks Lodge area of the Park.

Day 1 (Travel Day) (D)
Arrive in King Salmon, Alaska by 6:00 pm for orientation and welcome dinner.
Day 2 (B,L,D)
Hiking mileage: 3-6 miles all off-trail
Today we will board a small float plane headed for our wilderness camp. After a safety discussion and getting settled into camp, we will begin photographing Grizzly Bears! We’ll spend the entire
rest of the day photographing the bears as they run, swim, fight & fish the stream for salmon.
Days 3 - 4 (B,L,D)
Hiking mileage: 3-6 miles all off-trail
Full days of hiking & photography. We’ll hike as much or as little needed based upon bear activity and location in relation to our camp.
Day 5 (B)
Hiking Mileage: 3-6 miles all off-trail
We’ll have a morning session of photography during magic hour lighting, then pack up camp and board the float-plane back to King Salmon.
