Trip Description:

This is the ultimate adventure for nature and photography enthusiasts who are passionate about capturing the beauty of brown bears in an iconic Alaskan habitat. Join us for an unforgettable experience at the renowned Brooks Lodge in Katmai National Park, where you'll be surrounded by one of the largest populations of brown bears in the world.

Our expert guides will take you to the best spots for brown bear photography, as we've been leading photo workshops to Brooks Falls for over a decade. On this workshop, you'll be able to observe and capture extraordinary images of these magnificent creatures as they fish for salmon, play in the water, and interact with each other. Brooks Falls is the most iconic brown bear photography location in the world. It's here, where you'll have the chance to capture bears waiting for salmon to leap into their open jaws!

In addition to the amazing wildlife photography opportunities, you'll have the chance to learn from world-class photographers. Our team of experienced and passionate instructors will help you improve your skills and take your photography to the next level. They'll be on hand to provide personalized feedback, answer questions, and share their own techniques for capturing stunning brown bear photos.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced photographer, you'll come away with new skills and insights that will last a lifetime. You'll also have the chance to explore Brooks Camp, where you may encounter other amazing animals such as wolves, moose, and bald eagles.

This photo workshop is more than just photography - it's also an adventure in the wilds of Alaska. You'll stay at the comfortable and rustic Brooks Lodge, where you'll have the chance to observe bears from a safe distance and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Brooks Lodge is the only lodge-based accomodation at Brooks Camp.

Don't miss the opportunity to experience the thrill of capturing sensational brown bear photos and exploring the wilderness of Alaska. Join us for the Brown Bears of Alaska: Brooks Lodge Photo Workshop at Brooks Falls, and make unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. This is our #1 most popular photo workshop!

Ready for Katmai? Join us this fall for the most spectacular brown bear photography experience in Katmai National Park, Alaska.

Please note that the exact sequence of the itineraries on all photography trips will be based on weather and lighting conditions. The goal on these trips is to make sure we are at the right place at the right time for the perfect light on our subjects. Also, itineraries can change for a variety of other circumstances including floods, forest fires, national park closures, road closures, and more. Due to the nature of wildlife and landscape photography, we do not guarantee any specific sightings or specific compositions.

Physical Requirements

This is a Level 2 Trip.

Accessing the Brooks Falls viewing platform requires walking along well-established paths, approximately 1.5 miles one way. Expect to make this walk a few times a day.

Please note:
Whether you choose the lodge-based trip or the tent camping trip, please know that you are not able to bring food or strongly scented items. For the safety of both guests and wildlife, these items are strictly prohibited in tents or cabins.

Dining during your visit will be provided at the Brooks Lodge, offering buffet-style meals in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. While the buffet offers a variety of options, accommodating specific dietary preferences may be challenging due to the remote location. If you have specific dietary needs, please contact us in advance to discuss whether we can accommodate your requests.
