Our expert guides will take you to the best spots for brown bear photography, as we've been leading photo workshops to Brooks Falls for over a decade. On this workshop, you'll be able to observe and capture extraordinary images of these magnificent creatures as they fish for salmon, play in the water, and interact with each other. Brooks Falls is the most iconic brown bear photography location in the world. It's here, where you'll have the chance to capture bears waiting for salmon to leap into their open jaws!

Trip Extension: We offer an optional Northern Lights Extension immediately after some of our Brown Bears of Alaska trips in the fall (please note that this is not available during our summer sessions as it doesn’t get dark enough to view the Northern Lights). The extension can be reserved with the main trip while making your online reservation or it can be booked as a standalone trip.

Day 1 (D)
Arrive in King Salmon, Alaska for orientation and welcome dinner.
Day 2 (B,L,D)
Hiking mileage: 3-6 miles on a flat road/trail
Today we will board a small float plane or boat for Brooks Falls. After a safety briefing and checking into our lodge, we will begin photographing brown bears! We’ll spend the entire rest of the day photographing the bears as they run, swim, fight & fish the stream for salmon.
Days 3 - 4 (B,L,D)
Hiking mileage: 3-6 miles on a flat road/trail
Full days of hiking & photography as we witness the spectacle of the great bears at Brooks Falls!
Day 5 (B)
Hiking Mileage: 3-6 miles on a flat road/trail
We’ll have a morning session of photography during magic hour lighting, then pack up from our lodge and board the float plane or boat back to King Salmon. You can book flights home (or to Anchorage) from King Salmon this evening.
