 Trip Itinerary

Most meals included – (B,L,D) denotes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 1 (D)

Arrive in Flagstaff, settle in and prepare for the adventure ahead. In the evening, there will be a warm welcome and an orientation session. This session will introduce the participants to each other and provide an overview of the exciting days to come. The day will conclude with a dinner, offering everyone a chance to mingle, share their photographic interests, and build the camaraderie that will enhance their shared experience.

Day 2 (B,L,D)

We will depart for Monument Valley to begin our photographic adventure. This scenic drive will present the first of many opportunities to capture the stunning landscapes of the Southwest. Along the way, we'll visit Coal Mine Canyon, an incredible canyon with colorful geology and epic vistas. We'll then continue on to Monument Valley for our first sunset session.

Days 3-4 (B,L,D)

The following days will be dedicated entirely to Monument Valley. We will delve deeper into the valley, guided to various prime locations for capturing this majestic landscape. Expect arches, buttes, totem poles, and amazing light. We may also visit nearby Mexican Hat, which is home to some beautiful state parks and desert vistas.

Day 5 (B)

On the final day, the group will rise early and travel to Goosenecks State Park, where we will capture the sunrise illuminating the dramatic and winding San Juan River—a fitting end to a journey filled with remarkable sights and photographic opportunities. After the morning session, the group will return to Flagstaff. The workshop concludes here, where farewells will be exchanged, and we will depart home, carrying not just their photographs but memories and new skills that will last a lifetime.

Please note that the exact sequence of the itineraries on all photography trips will be based on weather and lighting conditions. The goal on these trips is to make sure we are at the right place at the right time for the perfect light on our subjects. Also, itineraries can change for a variety of other circumstances including floods, forest fires, national park closures, road closures, and more.
