Day 1 (Travel Day) (D)
We will meet in the lobby of our hotel the first evening of the trip for an orientation and welcome dinner.
Day 2 (B,L,D)
We’ll get an early start and head east from Burlington. We’ll head towards Stowe and stop at some of the beautiful locations in the area. Stowe is an iconic Vermont town, with beautiful village views, as well as great surrounding landscapes. We’ll stop and grab lunch at a local café mid-day. We’ll continue east and visit a reservoir with fantastic fall color before checking in to our hotel. For sunset, we will head out to a great vista overlooking the Groton State Forest.
Day 3 (B,L,D)
On Day 3, we’ll head to a nearby pond for sunrise. The pond features vibrant color and is a great place for reflections. We’ll chase the mid-morning light and drive some rustic dirt roads showcasing classic New England fall scenes. If time permits, we may venture into New Hampshire to photograph fall color in the White Mountains. For sunset, if conditions permit, we will do a short hike with around 250 feet in elevation gain. The hike takes us to a ledge overlooking a beautiful lake. The sun sets right over the lake in fall, giving us a chance to capture some sun stars.
Day 4 (B,D)
For sunrise, we’ll visit a famous pond within Groton State Forest – another spot showcasing the iconic fall colors of New England. We’ll also pack up and head for a new hotel. Along the way, we’ll stop at the historic village of Peachem and seek out some covered bridges to photograph. We’ll also spend some of the afternoon exploring and photographing Woodstock, Vermont. At sunset, we’ll look for some more small ponds bustling with fall colors and reflections.
Day 5 (B,L,D)
We’ll shoot sunrise within the beautiful Chittenden Reservoir – an area filled with lakes and ponds. If we’re lucky, we’ll capture some mist rising off the water to complement the fall colors. We’ll spend the day exploring dirt roads and capturing images of gorgeous farmsteads and barns. Depending on the light, we’ll either head to a nearby gorge for sunset or drive a scenic iconic road – both locations offer excellent photography opportunities.
Day 6 (B)
On our final day, we’ll shoot sunrise at a beautiful farmstead. We’ll check out, grab breakfast, and then make our way back to Burlington, VT with a few fall color stops along the way.
