Arrive in Salzburg, Austria. An airport transfer will be awaiting your arrival and will transport you to our arrival hotel. We'll be meeting tomorrow morning as a group, so we recommend resting and preparing for the journey ahead!
Day 2 (B, L, D)
This morning we'll meet for breakfast and orientation at the hotel in Salzburg, and then we'll drive to a village near Krimml. This is a very scenic drive into the heart of the Austrian Alps. Depending on weather conditions, we may stop at a mountain lake, a scenic church, or a narrow river gorge along the way.
Day 3 (B, L, D)
We have a full day to explore the area. If weather permits, we might take a cable car to a mountain ski resort for an unforgettable view of the highest peaks in the area. The nearby Krimml waterfall is one of the most fascinating natural sights of Austria, and we will have ample time to walk the trails to photograph the cascades and landscapes of Hohe Tauern National Park.
Day 4 (B, L, D)
Today we travel deep into the Austrian Alps. We might stop at Heiligenblut village with the iconic church and a view from Grossglockner, the spectacular high alpine road. This road offers endless opportunities to photograph mountains, night skies, and even wildlife – if we're lucky, we'll find marmots or ibex in mountain meadows. We might get a glimpse of the highest peak of Austria, the mighty Grossglockner.
Day 5 (B, L, D)
After a sunrise photography workshop at the top of Edelweissspitze, we'll drive to the Eastern part of the Austrian Alps. We will be based near Hallstatt town for three nights - Hallstatt is probably the most picturesque town in all of Austria! Its iconic church casts a beautiful reflection on the narrow lakeshore. We might even take a gondola ride to a viewpoint above the town and lake.
Day 6 & Day 7 (B, L, D)
The area around Gosau and Hallstatt offers many beautiful sights. Depending on the weather, we will photograph mountain lakes, such as Gosausee, or take a gondola ride to the top of the mountain with spectacular views of snow-capped peaks. There are some river canyons we can explore, and we will visit the spectacular Golling waterfall.
Day 8 (B, L, D)
We'll spend this day exploring Salzburg, arguably the most beautiful city in Austria. Salzburg Cathedral, old cemeteries, cobblestone streets, Mozart’s birth house, and more await you! There will also be some free time to visit the castle above the city. Our final photoshoot will be at one of the elevated views over the city where we can capture Salzburg’s numerous bell towers.
Day 9 (B)
This will be our departure day where we bid one last farewell to the Baroque beauty of Salzburg. If you have a late flight, there will be more opportunities for you venture and photograph the city.
