Day 1 (Travel Day - D)
Arrive in Dublin, Ireland, at any time and transfer to our arrival hotel. Join your group this evening for a welcome dinner. Meet your fellow photographers and discuss the itinerary ahead.
Days 2-3 (B, L, D)
We begin by traveling north from Dublin to County Antrim, in Northern Ireland. Our destination for the next two nights is the Causeway Coast, a spectacular and varied stretch of coastline boasting a host of unique locations. The twisted trees of the Dark Hedges, the tiny harbour at Portbradden, and the mouldering cliff-top remains of Dunluce Castle all make prime photo spots.
We stay overnight in a listed hotel that dates from 1836, and gives easy walking access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Giant’s Causeway. Sunset shoots at these iconic rock formations are a highlight of the tour.
Day 4 (B, L, D)
Today our journey veers south towards County Sligo. Photo stops along the way include Mullaghmore Head, home to Classie Bawn Castle. Enjoy a memorable lunch in Eithna’s By the Sea, an award-winning seafood restaurant, before continuing to our accommodation in a renovated eighteenth-century castle. A beautiful beach woodland carpeted in spring bluebells offers a different shooting experience this evening.
Days 5-6 (B, L, D)
County Clare is famed for its dramatic shoreline and the extensive limestone pavement of The Burren. We make the most of it with a visit to 5000-year-old Poulnabrone Dolmen, the waterside fort of Dunguaire Castle, and the long, precipitous escarpment at the Cliffs of Moher. Sunset is prime shooting time for the cliffs, which glow orange with reflected light. In the evening we’ll enjoy traditional Irish music and award-wining dining in the picturesque village of Doolin.
Days 7-8 (B, L, D)
Moving on to Ireland’s south west corner, we spend the next two days exploring the magnificent kingdom of County Kerry. Much of our focus here is centred around the tip of the Dingle Peninsula, the most westerly point in Ireland. Green mountains rise above a stunning coastline, with the jagged rock fins of Slea Head, the sandy coves of Coomeenoole and Clogher, and the twisted descent to Dunquin Harbour providing prime photo locations.
Offshore, the windswept Blasket Islands form a perfect backdrop for the setting sun to sink behind. Once we’ve finished shooting, we’ll retire to Dingle town, a vibrant Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) community, with a wide variety of bistros, pubs and traditional music to keep us entertained in the evening.
Day 9 (B, L)
After one last morning of shooting in County Kerry, we begin making our way back towards Dublin. The adventure isn’t finished yet though, as more photo stops break the journey. A prime location on today’s route is the Rock of Cashel, a cluster of imposing medieval buildings set atop a dramatic limestone outcrop. The tour finishes with an afternoon drop-off at Dublin airport, or nearby hotel of your choice.
