Welcome to Backcountry Journeys' Columbia River Gorge: Waterfalls, Wildflowers, & Seascapes photo workshop, where adventure meets creativity and nature's beauty is yours to capture. Join us on a journey through one of the Pacific Northwest's most iconic landscapes, where the Columbia River meanders through towering cliffs, lush forests, and cascading waterfalls. Plus, we'll spend two nights on the northern Oregon Coast, at one of Oregon's most famous beaches - Cannon Beach.
Over six unforgettable days, our experienced photography guides will lead you to some of the Gorge's most scenic spots. From the misty spray of Multnomah Falls to the vivid colors of Columbia Hills in full bloom, this workshop offers endless possibilities for creative exploration and artistic expression. There's so much diversity to photograph on this trip.
In spring, the Columbia River Gorge comes alive with lush greens and the surrounding hills bloom with balsamroot and lupine - but you have to know where to go! Leave that to our guides who have been photographing the Gorge and the Pacific Northwest for years. We know the icons and the hidden gems.
A big focus of this workshop will be waterfalls and long exposure photography. The Gorge features some of the best waterfalls in the United States, there are 90 waterfalls alone on the Oregon side and the Washington side has some great ones too. We'll spend time photographing giant falls, small cascades, and everything in between.
And that's not all – we'll also take a journey to the coast and visit iconic Cannon Beach, where you'll have the chance to capture the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast. With its towering sea stacks and dramatic sunsets, this is a photographer's dream come true. Cannon Beach is central to many great spots along the northern Oregon Coast. We'll check out a lighthouse or two and even photograph a hidden beach where a waterfall cascades into the ocean.
This is always a very productive trip. You'll have the chance to bolster your portfolio with tons of images, from waterfalls to wildflowers to seascapes. There will also be opportunities to photograph Oregon's Mount Hood with wildflower blooms.
Our Columbia River Gorge photo workshop promises to be an unforgettable experience. So grab your camera and join us for an adventure through some of the Pacific Northwest's most iconic landscapes!
