An Exclusive Bird Photography Experience in South Texas
South Texas is one of the top bird photography destinations in North America. This exclusive photo workshop combines two of the region’s most exceptional birding locations:
Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, home to one of the best birding habitats in the United States
A privately chartered photography ranch, offering exclusive access to five world-class bird blinds designed specifically for photographers.
Aransas National Wildlife Refuge & Whooping Cranes
Our adventure begins on the Texas Gulf Coast, exploring the vast and vibrant Aransas National Wildlife Refuge—a sanctuary for over 400 recorded bird species. Here, we’ll go on a private charter boat tour for an exclusive opportunity to photograph the endangered whooping crane in its wintering grounds. As one of North America’s rarest and most iconic birds, the whooping crane is a 'lifer' for bird photographers. This refuge is one of the only places in the world where they can be consistently observed and photographed in the wild.
In addition to whooping cranes, the wetlands here are alive with roseate spoonbills, sandhill cranes, egrets, ibises, and a massive array of shorebirds.

Private Photography Ranch & World-Class Bird Blinds
After our time on the coast, we travel inland to a privately chartered ranch, reserved exclusively for our group. This photographer-designed sanctuary is one of the best places in the country for bird photography, providing unparalleled access to a diverse range of species in a controlled, highly-productive setting.
At the ranch, you’ll have access to five permanent bird blinds, each meticulously designed for photographers:
Ground-level and below-ground blinds for intimate, eye-level perspectives.
Elevated blinds offering a dynamic angle for birds-in-flight and raptors on approach.
A dedicated raptor blind, delivering thrilling opportunities to capture birds of prey in action.
All blinds have clean, distraction-free backgrounds that are perfectly managed for photography—no trees or obstructions within 200 feet, ensuring ideal compositions.
This ranch is owned by a fellow photographer who understands exactly what’s needed to create the perfect setup for bird images. Whether you’re after frame-filling portraits, birds-in-flight shots, or behavioral interactions, the ranch delivers.
