Step into the heart of Yosemite National Park for a photography experience unlike any other. Timed to coincide with a rare November Supermoon, this workshop offers the chance to capture one of the world’s most iconic landscapes under extraordinary conditions. With expert guidance and a thoughtfully designed itinerary, you’ll explore Yosemite’s dramatic scenery while honing your craft and building a portfolio of striking images.
With Yosemite Valley as our home base, you’ll have front-row access to towering granite cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and meandering rivers—all illuminated by the soft light of winter. From the classic waterfalls of Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls to the timeless silhouettes of El Capitan and Half Dome, every location presents new creative opportunities and technical challenges, whether you’re focusing on grand landscapes or more intimate scenes along the Merced River.
Our flexible, light-driven itinerary ensures you’ll make the most of each day. We’ll visit celebrated viewpoints such as Tunnel View, Valley View, El Capitan Meadow, Cooks Meadow, Swinging Bridge, and Sentinel Bridge, all while leaving space to explore lesser-known locations away from the crowds. These hidden gems often provide the most rewarding photographic moments, offering fresh perspectives on Yosemite’s legendary beauty.
The highlight of this adventure is the November Supermoon, when the full moon appears unusually large and bright as it rises over Yosemite’s iconic landscape. This rare celestial event casts an ethereal glow across granite cliffs and alpine meadows, transforming familiar scenes into something extraordinary. Whether you’re capturing the moonrise over Half Dome or composing wide-angle nightscapes bathed in moonlight, the supermoon offers a unique opportunity to create images that are as powerful as they are timeless.
Whether you’re chasing new skills or your next great shot, this trip delivers the perfect balance of education, inspiration, and adventure to fuel your passion for photography.
