Dynamic range is one of the biggest challenges landscape photographers face. The periods of best light usually feature bright highlights and dark shadows. The question is – how do we capture it all?
While on workshops, we commonly see photographers of all skill levels struggle with that question.
In this video, guide Matt Meisenheimer shares his simple process for high dynamic range (HDR) scenes, like sunrise and sunset. Matt covers how to approach HDR scenes and discusses his strategy in the field. As a bonus, he also shows an easy tip on how to fix sun flare when shooting directly into the sun. He then covers two merging/blending post-processing approaches – one in Lightroom Classic CC and one in Photoshop CC.
