Backcountry Journeys is going International in 2020!
While it is true that we have been traveling to Costa Rica for several years, we have recently introduced a number of international locations like Brazil, India, Africa, and Iceland which will take us even further from the familiarity of the United States.
International travel is incredibly exciting and fun. However, we also recognize that with it comes added health-related details that you, as travelers, should be sure to consider when preparing for an international trip.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a thorough website that we strongly recommend each of our guests’ who are booked on an international photo trip reference ahead of time. Click here for an example page for Brazil.
The US Department of State’s Bureau of Consulate Affairs website also provides current information on Passport, Visa, and other customs-related requirements. Click here for an example page for India.
While on the CDC website you will be able to familiarize yourself with any potential Travel Health Notices, as well as reference lists of immunizations that may/may not apply to you. Additionally, there are tips – specific to where you are going – on topics like staying healthy and safe, healthy travel packing lists, things you might do upon getting home following your trip, and more.
Before you travel, plan ahead. See your doctor at least 6 weeks prior to your International photo tour for consultation on potential immunizations you might want, or, more importantly, that you might be required to have where you are going. Both the CDC and the Department of State websites are valuable resources for international travelers, we strongly recommend their use.
We can’t wait to see all of you at whichever adventurous International location you choose to visit with Backcountry Journeys in 2020, and beyond!
