About Our Company
Elizabeth Carmel
Elizabeth Carmel is a professional nature photographer specializing in unique, expressive landscapes and “waterscapes”. She is based in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California near Lake Tahoe, where she owns and operates The Carmel Gallery with her husband Olof Carmel. Elizabeth’s fine art prints combine dramatic photography, vivid colors, and artistic touches to create new, captivating visions of the natural world. She does her own printing on photo papers or canvas using large format Epson printers. Her award winning images are in numerous galleries and private collections throughout the United States. Her prints have been displayed at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C., at the California Museum of Photography and the Nevada Museum of Art. Elizabeth’s work has been featured in many magazines and books.

Elizabeth published a book of her photography titled “Brilliant Waters, Portraits of Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and the High Sierra” with a foreword by Robert Redford. She has also published “The Changing Range of Light” about climate change in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She was also one of 12 photographers in the world selected as a Hasselblad Master. She is the founder and director of NatureStream.tv, a TV channel and streaming service which broadcasts nature films for relaxation and inspiration.

Elizabeth is a columnist for Outdoor Photographer Magazine. She is a lifelong outdoors person and is an experienced world traveler, whitewater kayaker, nordic skier, backpacker, scuba diver, competitive tennis player, and drone pilot. She has let multiple photography workshops around the world and loves being around others who share her passion for photography. Elizabeth believes that photography is a way to deeply experience the awe and wonder of nature, which is important for both our well-being and for appreciating our role as stewards of planet Earth.
