Scott Douglas is a wildlife and landscape photographer with a diverse artistic background. He regularly performs in orchestras throughout the Midwest, and has served as guest principal flute of the New Orleans Opera, Louisiana Philharmonic, and as piccoloist of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra. Scott has made recordings with several distinguished record labels in Chicago and Cleveland, and has been a featured performer on WFMT 98.7 and WCLV 104.9.

 

Scott has been a photographer for as long as he can remember. He was always more interested in being behind the camera to capture those “money shots” of his twin brother posing with Mickey Mouse on their family vacations. His artistic/professional journey started with architectural and urban subjects during his graduate studies in Chicago, often shooting live events as well. Traveling across the world for his orchestral career influenced his current subject matter which focuses primarily on wildlife and landscapes.

In his free time, Scott enjoys entertaining his two Italian Greyhounds, developing new vegan recipes, and anything related to the arts. Scott is excited to be a new member of the Backcountry Journeys team and can’t wait to see the great adventures in store for our future!
